This lamp is a great alternative to a 400 watt SON or Metal Halide lamp. With its E40 screw base, just take out the SON or Metal Halide lamp and replace it with the LED. You must then by pass the control gear in the fitting so the LED lamp runs directly from 240v. This lamp has 3 year warranty and emits a colour temperature of 6000k daylight. The fitting should provide adequate ventilation to avoid shortening the life of the lamp.
